Mrs. Rebecca Swift is the Library Manager at the San Carlos Community & Apache College Library. She is a San Carlos Tribal member and has over three decades of experience as a librarian, beginning with her work in the San Carlos Unified School District and later transitioning to higher education. A passionate advocate for Native American libraries, Rebecca has chaired the Native American Interest Group of the Arizona Library Association. She is a member of the American Library Association and has served as Chair of the San Carlos Apache College Board of Regents, demonstrating her influential leadership. Her primary goal is to empower Apache people to pursue higher education, and under her leadership, the library will become a center of study and collaboration that honors Apache culture and tradition for all ages in her San Carlos community.
Rebecca resides in the Peridot District. She has earned her bachelor’s degree in Education from Northern Arizona University and a master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Arizona.
