Information Technology Manager, Artie Steele

Artie Steele is an enrolled member of the San Carlos Apache Reservation; Artie brings a diverse background to his role. Before entering the IT field, he served for nearly a decade with a type one wildland fire firefighting and emergency response with the Geronimo Hotshots. His fellowship to leadership experience and operation crisis management skills continue to inform his work in technology management and problem-solving.

Artie Steele currently serves as the Information Technology Manager at San Carlos Apache College since March 2024, where he oversees campus-wide IT operations, project management, and technology planning to support institutional success as SCAC pursues their mission to achieving accreditation. With a strong focus on strategic development and innovation, Artie is committed to improving digital infrastructure, maintaining compliance, and enhancing the student and faculty experience through technology.

Artie holds Associate of Arts degrees in Computer Information Systems and Liberal Arts from San Carlos Apache College. He is planning to pursue his secondary Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science soon. He has also earned a Google IT Support Professional Certificate, and been awarded College Student of the Year from the Phoenix Indian Center, reflecting further dedication to lifelong learning and professional development.

In addition to his technical expertise, Artie is passionate about empowering his community, students, colleagues, encouraging educational growth, and using technology as a tool for transformation.
