Shelley McPherson is a seasoned Human Resources Executive with 20+ years of extensive experience across diverse sectors, including government, telecommunications, banking, and consulting. With a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Psychology and certifications as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), Shelley skillfully integrates her expertise in industrial-organizational psychology to drive transformative HR initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
Throughout her career, Shelley has demonstrated a remarkable ability to lead complex HR projects, ensure regulatory compliance, oversee crisis management and the establishment of robust HRIS systems and performance review frameworks that foster staff development and operational efficiency.
Shelley has been deeply committed to initiatives that empower employees and enhance workforce development. She has actively collaborated with management to create training programs tailored to the unique needs of the local people, focusing on skill development and career advancement.
Growing up in Oklahoma, Shelley was raised by her grandparents, who instilled in her a strong appreciation for education, the musical arts, and the outdoors. In 2010, she relocated to Arizona with her husband, Pastor Gary, joining the Management Team at San Carlos Apache Telecommunications Utility (SCATUI). Together, they embraced the invitation to actively engage in the San Carlos Apache culture, in community events with SCATUI, along with Gary serving as an Assistant Pastor at New Harvest Church in Peridot, AZ, while Shelley served as the song leader.
Shelley is passionate about fostering workplace cultures and is committed to continuous improvement in HR practices. She is excited to leverage her diverse experiences and educational background to contribute to the success of San Carlos Apache College, empowering students and staff alike in their pursuit of excellence.
